We would like a guest presenter to speak to our students about coding. Any expertise you can bring would be fantastic. My school has limited access to technology. In our classroom, we have eight working desktop computers and 13 small ACER laptops tablets. We could also borrow 8 RT tablets and have easy access to the library where there are an additional ten desktop PCs. In short, all students could be working on a device (PC or laptop) either one to one or two to a device, easily enough, but if you have some useful tech to bring along and expose to the students, that'd be great. Many students do not have access to up-to-date tech at home and some do not have internet access at home either, so any exposure you can bring, either physically or just to explain what is out there, would be great. We also have an interactive whiteboard attached to a PC too. If you have any knowledge around unplugged coding, that would also be beneficial to the students. The key messages we'd like students to come away with are: - coding is important for the future - coding isn't that scary and anyone can code - the basics - the knowledge/language behind coding Dates and times for the presentation are flexible. Please click on the 'volunteer' button to connect with us and discuss further.
